Pay or Contest Tickets
The KCOJ ePay guide says online payment options include paying court fines and costs in full or setting up a payment plan. Credit, debit, and prepaid cards are accepted online. Cash payments must be made at the Circuit Clerk's office. The guide also says balances must be paid in full at least two days before the court date.
If the citation requires an appearance, if the user wants to contest it, or if ePay does not show the case as payable, the next step is the KCOJ docket and a call to the Circuit Court Clerk. Missing court or failing to pay can create bench-warrant, cost, or license consequences. The clerk, not KYTC, verifies the court case status.
Court Records vs Driver Records
The most common traffic-record mistake is treating the court citation file and the state driver history as the same record. They are separate records held by separate offices.
